This is Part 2 of our podcast interview with Personal Injury attorney and mediator Matt White.
In part 1, we talked with Matt about his experiences as a personal injury attorney, representing individuals who are injured in automobile accidents, workplace accidents, or through others’ negligence. You can listen to Part 1 here.
In the second portion of this interview, we talk with Matt about his experiences as a mediator and a judge pro tem. As Matt explains in the interview, mediation is a voluntary process where a 3rd party (the mediator) tries to convince the two sides that it is in their best interests to settle the case rather than to continue with litigation.
It’s not an easy process, and the mediator often has use every trick they know to convince both sides that settling the case is the preferred option.
The interview provided us with a great opportunity to get inside the head of a busy mediator and learn his thoughts on this growing area of the law.
